Thai Wife Visa – Marriage Visa Extension in Thailand
The marriage visa, or visa to stay with a Thai husband or wife, is for foreigners who have registered their marriage with a Thai national and want to live in Thailand. It allows you to stay for 1 year and must be renewed every year. Applicants should enter Thailand on a Non-Immigrant O visa. With this visa you can work in Thailand after obtaining a work permit. If you did not enter on a Non-Immigrant O visa, the change can be made inside Thailand.
Thai Wife Visa – documents required
1. Original passport
2. Three 2-inch photos
3. One signed copy of your wife's house registration
4. One signed copy of your wife's ID card
5. One signed copy each of the marriage certificate and marriage record, signed by both spouses, plus a copy of the certificate of single status issued by your embassy
6. One copy of each child's birth certificate (if any)
7. One copy of each child's house registration (if any)
8. Original bank book from Kasikorn, Krungthai or Bangkok Bank with a signed copy of the first page, showing a balance of 400,000 baht
9. Ten colour wedding and family photos (4×6 inches, no black and white). Photos should be taken inside your home with your spouse; for cases with Thai children, the photos must show both parents and the children.
